How To Reach Perugia

From Milano Malpensa


From Milano MALPENSA 2000 International Airport take connecting Alitalia flights (flight time 1 hour and 5 minutes) to Perugia "S. Egidio" Airport. Please note that there are 2 flights a day.

BUS from Fiumicino Airport


The local committee needs to know how many participants wish to take the chartered late bus (22:00 sharp on June 29, 2008) from the Rome Fiumicino airport (in front of the international arrival terminal B where a person of the conference will wait just outside the terminal exit) to Perugia (final stop at the GIO Hotel with expected arrival at 0:30).
Requests to reserve a seat on that bus (please, remember that there are also regular buses and trains earlier in the day) should be sent to s2andc@gmail.com before June 12.
The message should specify the number and the name of the persons requesting the ride and should have as object 'ICCSA bus ROME-PERUGIA'. The bus will be arranged only if at least 30 requests will be received. A notification of the accepted reservation will be sent on June 13. The cost of the ride is 40 euro per person and will be paid on board.

An attempt will also be made to arrange a bus to return from Perugia to the Rome Fiumicino airport on July 3 (tentative hours 6:00 and 12:00) leaving from the GIO hotel. Requests to reserve a seat on the bus should be sent to s2andc@gmail.com again before June 12 by specifying the hour of preference as well as the number and the name of the persons requesting the ride.The message should have as object 'ICCSA bus PERUGIA-ROME'. The bus will be arranged only if  at least 30 requests will be received. A notification of the accepted reservation will be sent on June 13. The cost of the ride is 40 euro per person and will be paid at the conference desk before July 2.


There is also a regular train station at the airport, called Fiumicino Aereoporto.


From London Stansted

has a direct flight to Perugia S.Egidio (duration: 1h 25mins) in the following days of the week:

From Ancona Airport


From Ancona (Falconara) take a train to Roma and stop in Foligno where connections to Perugia can be found.

From Firenze Airport


From Firenze (Peretola) take a bus to the railway station Firenze S. Maria Novella. From there take a train to Perugia Fontivegge.

From Perugia Airport


From Perugia "S. Egidio" Airport to Hotel Giò you can take a Bus or a taxi (at the exit of the airport). 



BY TRAIN


Perugia is on the rail road connecting Foligno (on the line Roma-Ancona) to Terontola (on the line Milano-Firenze-Roma). It can be easily reached from Roma, Ancona or Firenze (about 2 hours).
The Perugia station closest to the Venue and the Hotel is Perugia Fontivegge.
Timetables are available on internet (Please note that some trains from Roma to Perugia are direct while some require a change in Foligno and also that some trains from Firenze to Perugia are direct  while some require a change in Terontola). 
Those arriving at the Fiumicino International Airport should purchase the train ticket Roma Termini - Perugia at the same time they purchase the Airport to Roma Termini one. This will avoid possible queues at the ticket counters at Roma Termini (Automatic ticket counters accepting credit cards are also available).

Please to avoid fines at the time the ticket is controled remember to validate it before get into the train. 

Hotel Giò is close to Fontivegge station (10 minutes walking, going huphill) or you should get the Buses "B" or "C" or "O", direction Piazza Italia, or the Taxi service, both available at the main entrance of Fontivegge station.


BY CAR


The fastest acces to Perugia is the Autostrada del Sole (A1) Motorway MILANO-ROMA.
From North take the Valdichiana exit and then the freeway to Perugia (approx 50Km). 
From South take the Orte exit and then the freeway to Perugia (approx 65Km).
