Call for Session Proposals
We encourage and invite interested parties to submit a proposal for organizing a Session at:
The 2011 International Conference on Computational Science
and Its Applications (ICCSA 2011)
to be held on June 20 -23, 2011 at the University of Cantabria, Santander, Spain
Session proposals for Workshop or Technical Sessions will be collected until August 29, 2010 and notification of acceptance / rejection will be sent before August 31, 2010. The Session proposals should be sent to the e-mail address:
session_proposal <at> iccsa.org
and should include the following information:
- Title of the session
- Name, the affiliation, mailing address and e-mail address of the session organizer(s)
- Previous experience of the organizer(s) in organizing sessions (if any)
- name, the affiliation, and e-mail addresses of at least three colleagues of the organizer(s) who can comment on his (their) ability to organize the session. The organization of successful sessions in previous editions of ICCSA (with minimum no-show up, several discussions and questions during/after presentations), including the participation of the session chairs to the Conference, will be given priority ranking for acceptance.
- Description of the topic of the session (not exceeding 100 words) and detailed list (name, affiliation, country) of the Program Committee members and additional reviewers (if external to the program committee)
- The selected publisher (LNCS or Conference Publishing System (CPS)) of the proposed session
- A short description on how the session will be advertised.
The information provided by the session organizer(s) to the Conference Chairs shall remain strictly confidential.
The Session Chairs are responsible for all the organizational aspects including soliciting, reviewing and selection of Session papers. Session chairs are also fully responsible for ensuring that only high quality papers are selected and for verifying the correctness of the layout adopted by the authors. They are also responsible for choosing the actual reviewers (at least three) for each paper and for monitoring the reviewing process, in collaboration with the Conference Program Chairs.
Session Chairs (or their Deputies) are expected to attend ICCSA 2011, set the order of presentations and chair their related session(s).
The nature of the Sessions (either a Workshop or Technical Session) will be determined after the reviewing process and according to the number of accepted papers. Technical Sessions are collections of 5 oral contributions having a homogeneous subject. Workshops are a collection of Technical Sessions having very closely related subjects. Workshops will have at least two technical sessions and no longer than 11 technical sessions.
Due to their active role, Session chairs will receive some incentives, depending on the number and quality of accepted and registered papers.
